GENERAL

The Supermarine Speedwave 42 is supplied with CE certification and is built to EU specification and conforms to RCD 2 design category B. The hull is guaranteed against osmosis for 5 years from the date of manufacture.  

CONSTRUCTION  

Isophthalic resin hull laminate system with stitched multi-axial reinforcements. Advanced lightweight composite techniques incorporate closed cell sandwich construction throughout. Bi-axial reinforcements are used with local applications of uni-directionals. The composite materials are engineered to produce maximum strength and durability, with minimum weight for high performance.  The deck is bonded and mechanically fixed to the hull through the entire length of the hull resulting in a strong and integrated unit.

An alternative layout with further seating and coffee tables aft provides a generous seating arrangement, in lieu of the sun beds, with easy access to the side decks.

DECK  

All custom deck fittings are made of high quality silver anodised aluminium. All deck areas are non-slip formed, and there is a sun-bathing section ahead of the windscreen. An electric anchor winch is recessed below the foredeck and the anchor self stows on the bow.

The purpose designed wrap-around windscreen, has a fabricated stainless steel framework surrounding heavy duty tinted polycarbonate glass, with a recess for the three section canopy and tonneau cover.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT  

The propulsion machinery is twin six-cylinder Volvo Penta D-440A turbo-charged diesel engines driving through DPI stern drive legs. Aerodynamically shaped intake cowls feed air supply to the engine room,  turbo chargers, battery housing, interior ventilation and air conditioning (if installed).  Extractor fans exhaust air aft of the cowls.  The engine hatch lifts to provide access to sea-water inlets as well as the engine room, which is heavily soundproofed against noise and fumes.
